The brilliant young cellist Marie-Elizabeth Hecker will perform with the prestigious Orchestre de Paris, with Marek Janowski conducting.

Marie-Elizabeth Hecker was a musical sensation already at 18, when she won the Grand Prize of the City of Paris and two other prizes at the 2005 Rostropovitch Competition. With the Orchestre de Paris, the young German cellist will perform Saint-Saëns' lyric first concerto, which has more similarity to the Baroque work of Vivaldi than to Saint-Saëns' contemporaries Dvorák and Schumann.

This is sure to be an uplifting concert experience, with the masterful concerto followed by Haydn's 99th symphony.
