About Paris, France
Paris, France is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, a feast for the eyes. Ahhh…the food. French cuisine and fine wines are a feast for the palate. The rich history of Paris is a feast for the mind. And, Paris is synonymous with romance. Couples stroll hand-in-hand and stop for a kiss along the River Seine. It’s contagious. Paris is a feast for the heart and soul.
Paris should be seen from the sky, the land and the water. The Eiffel Tower is the symbol of Paris to people all over the world. The first glimpse of this grand structure leaves you breathless. Soaring 1051 feet into the sky, the Eiffel Tower dominates the Paris skyline. At the top,you can see 40 miles on a clear day. By land, L’Open Tours is a popular way to discover Paris at your own pace. Double-decker buses cover four tour routes and over 50 hop-on, hop-off stops with a commentary in five languages via headphones at your seat. Open-air upper decks offer fantastic views above the traffic of the Champs-Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, The Invalides, Tuileries Gardens, Montmarte, Sacre-Coeur and other magnificent monuments and museums. The River Seine flows eight miles through the heart of Paris. It divides the city into two parts, the Left Bank and the Right Bank. A cruise along the Seine offers a unique view of Paris from the water. Bateau Mouche, glass-topped barges, glide along the Seine accompanied by a commentary in English and French. At the Ilé de la Cit??e, the flying buttresses and enchanting gargoyles of Notre Dame Cathedral tower above the Seine. Night cruises showcase Paris as the “City of Light.”
Paris should also be savored in simple ways. Spend an afternoon or morning at a sidewalk café or charming neighborhood bistro. Spread a decadent picnic on the grassy lawn in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. Or, take a quiet walk among the artists on the banks of the River Seine at sunset and fall in love.
