Description

Find out how champagne became the wine of ship launchings, wedding toasts, and victory celebrations on this VIP day tour from Paris with all-inclusive tastings.  From the abbeys of Benedictine monks, to the most valuable street in France, and the tasting rooms of some of the finest wineries in the world; you’ll learn the history of this iconic wine as well as how it’s made in the modern world on this grape-to-glass tour.

Hop on a private minibus and enjoy a 2 hour ride to the Champagne region, where you first stop is a Benedictine Abbey in Hautvillers, where the famous Dom Perignon pioneered some of the production methods that made champagne the drink it is today. After getting some history (and an all-inclusive, light breakfast) under your belt, head over to  a family-run winery where the owner will show you around and teach you how his family has been making champagne for three generations. As you taste some of his wines he’ll also demonstrate the proper method for ‘sabering’ a bottle of champagne, i.e., chopping the head off a bottle with a sword.

Your next stop is Epernay, the champagne capital of the world, where you’ll break for lunch. It’s not included, but your guide will be happy to direct you toward their favorite restaurants for champagne’s hearty Cuisine du Terroir.

After lunch, you’ll step into the cellars of Moët & Chandon, beneath the famous Avenue de Champagne, for a full tour of their facilities and tastings of their most popular blend.

With the taste of of Moet still on your tongue you’ll hop back in the minibus and return to Paris, arriving around 6.30pm; just in time to get a few more recommendations from your guide and head out to dinner.
