Description

Savour the best food in Paris, sweet and savory, from local master artisans.  Enjoy a culinary tour of France, learning the origins of its artisans and the role of food in French culture, in the historical neighborhood of Saint Germain de Prés.  You'll taste food and wine, such as Provence oils, cheese, sausages, and cakes, from award-winning artisans, learning their stories along the way.  By the end, you’ll understand why Saint Germain des Prés is where all the writers, painters, actors, and singers gathered in the most famous coffee shop of the city.

Start your walking tour with a morning departure at 10:45 am or afternoon at 4:00 pm, in front of the Church of Saint Germain des Prés, in the 6th arrondissement (near Saint Germain des Prés stop on Metro line 4).  The firsts three stops will be sweets - you'll enter each shop for a tasting, then discover a hidden courtyard where the story of restaurants began, where many famous  French historical leaders passed through.  In total, we'll have 8 stops on the tour, sitting at some stores for table side tastings.

This tour was created by a foodie and is packed with information on how to find and recognize high quality food, understanding the different classifications in France.

We limit the group to a maximum of 6 people, as some of the stores are very small.  Store visits may change for reasons beyond our control.
