Description

This brand new tour allows you to combine two "must-do" when traveling to Paris: visit the iconic Opera Garnier on a self-guided tour as well as going around the city on a hop-on hop-off bus. At the Opera, immerse yourself in opulent Parisian luxury with a self-guided tour. This iconic opera house is famously known as the setting of Gaston Leroux's 1910 novel, The Phantom of the Opera, and its later musical adaption by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Combining multiple architectural features, this lavish building epitomises French grandeur, and is an important spiritual home of the country's rich dance, musical and theatrical traditions. Aboard a Big Bus open-top, double-decker bus, admire panoramic views of top Paris attractions including the Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Moulin Rouge and more, all while listening to audio commentary. Follow two easy routes, and hop on and off at any of the 15 stops around town.

Enjoy an easy overview of Paris at a pace that suits you with the hop-on hop-off Big Bus. There’s no better way to see all of Paris’ top sights than by an open-top Big Bus. Sit back and relax on the Classic Route, which takes 2 hours and 25 minutes, or the new Montmartre Route, which takes 1 hour and 15 minutes, while listening to entertaining and informative audio commentary about Paris’ history, architecture, monuments, museums and more.

If you want to explore by foot, hop off at any of the 15 stops around the city. Buses depart regularly from each stop, so you can hop back on wherever, and whenever, you like. See the Itinerary for details on discounts plus a list of the Big Bus hop-on hop-off tour stops.

The second part of this tour is a ticket to visit, at the date of your choice, the wonderful Opera Garnier. You will need to collect your ticket at the Big Bus agency located only a few minutes walk from the Opera. On your visit, you can tour through different areas of the building, including the Rotonde des Abonnés, Bassin de la Pythie, Grand Staircase, Grand Foyer, Avant-Foyer, Salons de la lune et du soleil, Rotonde du Glacier and tapestry collection. You will also be able to visit the Paris Opera Library-Museum, and enter any temporary exhibitions at no further cost.
