Description

Battle in the Argonne forest. Walk in the foorsteps of a German soldier along the Front Line of 1915-1918. This tour takes 4-8 hours. The forest is about 2,5 hours from Paris and Bruxelles. 1 hour from Reims and Luxembourgh. There is no public transport here so you need to come by car. You can come alone, with 2 or as a group; the price remains the same. I take you around and read out parts of the German regiment historie. Very personal stories and inside information which makes the forest transform into a 1st WW scenery.

We will get to know a little of the frontline of the 4th Armee. We walk the Hessenschlucht and visit 5 camps. We will see some tunnels, trenches, and a variety on bunkers. I will tell you about communications, attacks, threads, life and worries of both sides. The forest talks about autumn or summer, sun or rain. Beautiful flowers in a ditch. Small valleys form a kind of labyrinth. Bird sounds make the whole into a fairy tale. But this is not an innocent ditch with flowers it is a hole of a shell burst. No labyrinth, but a trench system. 100 years ago a deadly war took place here. Drum fires. Troop movements, reliefs and refreshments happened overnight. During the day it was too dangerous in the trenches to move. Walk along and experience the trenches!
